Palm Springs, Paris & Brownsville (almost)

Okay it was Palm Springs Kentucky, Paris Tennessee, and almost to Brownsville Tennessee. When you travel you find towns with names that aren’t in the place you expect to see them. Still don’t know how Palm Springs KY got its name. Sure didn’t see any palm trees. We also went through Tiny Town KY with is on the border between Kentucky and Tennessee. Yep, they got that name right, it was a tiny town.

My client attended a conference which was held at Lake Barkley State Resort just west of Cadiz KY. Beautiful place and a beautiful lake. I would really like to see it in the summer. I think I will need a vacation then! Here is a link to read more about Lake Barkley.

Also my client made several stops to visit with veterinarians. Seems like every vet clinic has a big’ol cat sleeping in a basket in the waiting room. Here is a picture of one where the cat was sleeping in a flower pot on the front porch. Looks like he has it made.

This week the dining places were mostly regional chain type but really good. The two that stood out were Cracker Barrel and O’Charlie’s. The original Cracker Barrel is in Lebanon TN. We were there but it was not meal time so I will have to take my client back there sometime. Cracker Barrel is simple home cooking, just like mom use to make. I really like breakfast there. The fire place sure felt good with the morning chill in the air. O’Charlie’s is similar to Chili’s but a little more extensive menu and more of a southern influence. Also, if you leave your credit card there you get to go back for lunch the next day! Here are links to read more about both of these restaurants.
